varaven45 Posted January 10, 2020 Author Posted January 10, 2020 Good stuff Crav. I like and understand your confidence. We are 14-2 for a reason and this team exudes much confidence and swagger - all the things you'd expect from a #1 seed. As a No 1 seed and having watched NE get dispatched last weekend, I just wonder about any letdown and rust from 2 weeks off. The team and media seem to already have us playing KC in the AFCC game. We are clearly the more talented, balanced and proven team. I just wonder whether this team or Harbs is focused strictly on this game and not looking ahead to KC. This is uncharted territory for this franchise: 14-2 record & No 1 seeded team. It'll be very telling how Lamar and the team handle it - poise, execution and focus will be huge in this game. I'm ready and pumped ! Quote

Spen Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 No telling how the Ravens will look in the playoffs but I don't expect any jitters or rust. They have been a very consistent team this season, especially since week 5. Not only did Lamar lead the league in TDs, his 66% completion percentage is awesome. Especially with our JV receivers. The excellent tight ends sure do help. I'll go Ravens 25.6 - Titans 14 Quote

cravnravn Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Yes, Henry was the NFL's leading rusher. But the Ravens destroyed the rushing record. You wait til that 4th quarter, 7 minute, 8 minute drive drives. We have 3 tight ends that will soften up Tennessee defense. We have Lamarvelous, Titans can't contain him. I'm feeling twice as confident. This is a 9-7 Titans team that had to wait until week 17 to see if they would even make the playoffs. Quote
vmax Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 (edited) Ravens Fever is everywhere. The energy around this state is unifying and awesome. It's bringing people closer together by breaking down the barriers of looking at each other as strangers. I flipped when I saw a woman, who must be pushing 90 years old, with her hair dyed Ravens purple. It's crossing age barriers, race, sex, geographic... .. We're all in this together. Schmucks Pep Rally.... Quote Everyone knows what a special opportunity the Ravens earned when they closed out the regular season with 12 straight victories to post the best won-loss record in team history, get a first-round bye and secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. But there is no pressure like the pressure on the best team in the NFL to live up to all that. The Titans might be the lowest-seeded team on the AFC side of the draw, but that is a disadvantage that some wild-card teams have found liberating. The Ravens cannot afford to let them hang around and keep hope alive in the fourth quarter, when strange things have a way of happening during the playoffs. The fans can help with that by keeping the volume pumped up all night long. The impact might not be obvious, but one disrupted snap count at a key moment could help move the Ravens a game closer to their third Super Bowl.....https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/analysis/schmuck/bs-sp-ravens-fans-need-to-be-on-top-of-their-game-20200111-gco2io4ajbes7duqp6jjlgslte-story.html We will report for duty Sir! https://www.wbaltv.com/article/baltimore-ravens-2019-playoffs-events/30381687 Watch this and then try to tell me that the Ravens will come out lethargic tonight... varaven45 Posted January 12, 2020 Author Posted January 12, 2020 Dang shame! Tough game; great season 14-3! Still, I wondered whether this team or Harbs would be focused strictly on this game and not looking ahead to KC. This was uncharted territory for this franchise: 14-2 record & No 1 seeded team. I was concerned how Lamar and the team would handle it - poise, execution and focus was huge in this game - and lack thereof was the difference. Great season for the team and Lamar ! Quote

It was a really great season, so much excitement and fun. Tough loss but we need to improve. You can't let one running back get 195 yards. That's probably the loss right there. And it's really hard to win with a terrible group of wideouts. Brown may be good one day, and he played well tonight, but besides him I'm not sure any are legit NFL players. No fear or respect from the defense and that affects the running game tremendously. Quote
vmax Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Very disappointed in the Ravens performance tonight. I have a lot of game observations and comments from what I saw and I'll post them tomorrow. For now, Dean Pees and Vrabel out coached Roman and Harbaugh. What's with 59 passing attempts? What with Ingram and Edwards only having 9 carries for the game? For the whole friggn game! What's with Lamar thinking he was going to single handedly win this game? On a night when he was off with his accuracy. The Ravens were never in this game. Quote
cravnravn Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 (edited) Have to agree Max. 59 pass attempts is not the Ravens football we are use to. But then again we dug ourselves a real deep hole being down 14. Even the announcers commented we had not been down that far since the first Cleveland debacle. Oh well chins up. We had a hell of a run. Edited January 12, 2020 by cravnravn Quote
tsylvester Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 There were a lot of mistakes, but the offensive line had one of the worst games of the season. They missed blocks, took in proper blocking angles, an off game for a group that had been one of the best in the league, best in team history. Quote

Team wasn’t ready, sloppy play all over, Lamar seemed uncomfortable right out of the gate. Game starts with a bad play here (pick on Andrews tipped pass), bad bounce there, missed tackles, lucky jump pass, next thing we were down 14-0. Uncharted territory, too much to overcome. Game over.
