GrubberRaven
Maybe consolidate everything here? Wagner to Lions for five years... Garson and Marshall off the board...
tsylvester
Marshall got 2 years $12 mil. Josh McCown to the Cowboys. Curious to see what Wagner got, my opinion. he is over rated by the Lions and the Ravens.
GrubberRaven
Oh wow...guess they're poised to move Romo... Yeah Wagner had a good year, but what was the strength of our schedule?
tsylvester
Yeah, McCown reportedly won't sign the deal until Romo is gone. So I guess either traded today or released tomorrow.

tsylvester
I wonder, with Garcon going to San Fran, who has no quarterback, did they tell him Cousins was going to be the man or even Romo?

tsylvester
Well, they want him and have the money.. Bad move on his part, Hoyer as your quarterback on a rebuilding team....even if they get Cousins or Romo...

oldno82
For him it is great. Good for him. I think the Ravens should have locked him down a yr ago. Wagner was a competent RT but nowhere near being paid the highest amount for a RT in history. No wonder the Ravens passed. If they had gotten him an extension last year his price would have been way down from what he got this year. And there's no guarantee that Wagner would want re-sign here and wanted to test the market. It takes two to do a contract. Maybe the Ravens were willing but he was not. papasmurfbell
And that is my point. Don't let them get to FA to push their price up. This reactive policy of Ozzie's makes it much harder to get deals done.

Exactly. i'm sure the Ravens try to be pro active in signing players before their final year. In general, nobody's dumb enough to do that in this sick FA market. The agents know the market...the supply and demand. Why sign an extension with a decent pay increase when they can wait a year and get sick money? And that's what Wager got. Probably 40% more than he's worth. I thought he was a good pass protector and average or below run blocker. I read somewhere he was rated the 9th best RT last year....andnow he gets #1 money. Side note, Torrey Smith was on wbal tv tonight with his young son promoting his anual basketball game. Sandusky asked the little guy who he wanted his dad to play for next year.
