  1. I heard a stat the other day. The Ravens, shocking to me, have the 5th oldest roster in the league, the Browns, one of the youngest. Recovery, as the talk show host stated, is hard enough over a week for an older player. More difficult on just a few days. Ravens are favored by 10, they jave a hard enough time scoring 10 pts, let alone winning by that much. They haven't won by more than 8 in over a year... Vegas must want to really entice gamblers on this one.. Browns by 13...
  2. I have to admit, I used to enjoy watching Joe drop back to pass, now I get that queasy feeling I used to get when Boller dropped back to pass.. I don't know what is wrong, his knee, too many hits because of this horrible line, family issues, but something clearly is wrong.
  3. Max, was the stadium loud? It looked like a lot of folks were holding their breathes all game and even sounded kinda quiet. Glad I was wrong but boy was that an ugly game, poor play, predictable game by the offense. So glad the buy week didn't change anything. Marty best be gone after this season. & who rushes only 3 on 3rd and 21? Pees of course...
  4. I saw a stat a few minutes ago, the Ravens, in the past 5 games, have converted just 19 of 77 third down opportunities, 19 of 77.. Let that stew for a while. If that does not imrpove today, a shut out is a real possibility.
  5. Norv just resigned as the Vikes oc. what a shocker..
  6. Good thing it is Halloween week, we should be scared out by game time... Shut out maybe? Or does Tucker score the only points on a 55 yarder?!
  7. Jim Bob Cooter. Designs plays very well, great route combinations, a players coach....
  8. Nope, look who the Pats just traded and they got a conditional 3rd for him because they plug & play, they don't pay that type of money for a poaition that is high in injury and easily replaced.
  9. Carr is doing a pretty darn good job; wow. Over 500 yards passing 4 touchdowns no picks incredible completion % !
  10. Add to that he is almost always hurt... We have plenty of guys like that as well...
  11. Inconsistent hands, poor route running, easily knocked off his route and timing, I think this team has enough players like him....
  12. All these 8 point or less loses fooled the fans, the coaches and the front office into thinking this team was close, the players were good enough.
  13. OutsideRzace touched on it in another post and he is correct. This terrible, undisciplined play goes to coaching. We are finally seeing the entire fruits of their labor: they can't coach nor teach. It is either that or the players they selected do not have the ability to learn. Pick your poison, either way, major changes have to be made on the coaching staff and in the front office when this season ends.
  14. The defensive line is worth keeping, not sure about anyone else on defense. I was pulling for Orr but he clearly is a back up and not a starter, nor is McClellan. Zuttah is horrible, Wagner has no business playing tackle nor does Lewis, both are average at best guards..
  15. Yes, Long was slated to start today, at guard, not sure if he did...play design is something we have been screaming about for decades it seem with thia team. Other than the very first game of the year where they specifically designed a play to get Wallace open deep on his long score, there has been nothing but spray & pray. Gilmore, Waller and Pita all match up well with linebackers and safeties, yet all we see are crossing, shallow, routes by Pita. No imagination...
  16. Or even get significant playing time? Seriously! I figured out why this offense can't run a screen, not a normal one nor a wide receiver screen, yet keeps trying. They work against their own defense, which cannot stop a screen so the coaches figure they will work in games. WRONG!! Aside from Weddle, not one starter in the secondary nor in the linebacking core would start for another team. Smith would be a back up, the rest likely would never dress for games on other teams if they even made the team. This game should have been a blow out but the Jets' wide outs can't catch the ball. The Ravens wide outs still can seperation, even when they supposedly have blazing speed! Flacco, wow, beat a dead horse again, but he is clearly not healthy, physically, mentally, maybe both. Why would this coaching staff not attack the seams with the tight ends? Why does this front office think Jensen is a pro caliber lineman? Ozzie screwed up again letting Long walk because of a million dollars. This is not only clear in the way this line sucks but in how badly Heaster sucks even more, yes, you knew I had to mention that over priced hack. Webb has another hamstring injury, just cut him now. He cant play safety nor corner.
  17. The offensive line did not play well overall. Sure, we can play semantics and say they played well for their skill level, but it still stunk. They played well for a play or two, a series or two, but not the game, they stunk. Four tries to run the ball in, inside the 5, and they failed; line stunk. Yes, Joe missed some throws, misread some coverages, but no, you do not bench him after one game with yet another offensive coordinator. People seem to forget how many this team has had during his career and how important continuity is to that position. Injury or not, he needs to play, not Mallet, who is likely to not be on the team next year anyway.
  18. Eh, this could be said of the majority of teams in the NFL. He just needed to fill a column.
  19. I am sure part of this, true, is due to the different platforms theory. However, I highly doubt that is the main reason. College football is more popular than ever before. There are more televised games than there are NFL games on the tube. The game it self is faster paced, more exciting than the pro game. While the NCAA has its own issues & detractors, people, millenials especially, are weary of the NFL machine and hypocrisy. Factor in the slow pace of the avaerage NFL game with all their penalties and the HDHD generation loses interest quickly. The average fan will watch five college games on Saturday, & grow tired of watching football. Then, for people like me, 50 soemthings, who grew up with NFL games, and see the level of play overall being subpar & boring. For mw personally, I know I am watching less NFL football, more college games (watching the Va Tech vs Canes game instead of the Packers vs Bears game) and my reasons are not because of any protest nor platform; I only watch games on television or in person...
  20. Flacco just has bursitis, rest, ice, pain meds; easy peasy. But this half the team being injured & or taking longer than players on other teams to return to the field has to make ya wonder. This is not the first year for this.
  21. Let us see. The Ravens can't cover nor rush the passer, so we should expect the Geno of West Virginia like numbers.....
  22. Add Ozzie to the list.
  23. He hasnt been the same since his last two injuries. He has lost power because of the bad wheels, and is mostly a no show because of it; time to cut ties with him. Younger, stronger players need the reps...
  24. Cant argue about Flacco. I dont know where his head is at, at this point. He missed several open receivers for touchdowns. One play comes to mind early in thw first half when they were in the red zone. He had time, he had Wallace in the endzone one an in breaking route and Pitta at the five on a crossing route, they were tiered. Had thrown to either of them, their defenders were behind them, it is 7 pts. Instead he threw to Aiken on the outside who went ob at the 5. That is just one instance. Maybe he is shell shock and feeling ghosts as the saying goes, so he wants to get rid of it quickly. Maybe with all the changes in offensive coordinators, he still has echoes in his head... Either way, he is not seeing the field clearly, it appears to me from the tv view. But that clock management at the end was terrible as well. I don't blame him for the loss, the play calls were terrible once again. Harbs wanting to take that 15 yard penalty on the extra point showed, to me, he continues to show terrible game management and his press conference, what a joke. He thinks he has talented guys in the secondary who can cover but they just don't look? Same old Ravens is what first came to mind when the game ended. Poor line play, poor play calling\ play design, poor game management, no pressure on the quarterback, poor fans for yet another game that should have been won but was lost.
  25. Nor am I max, but they had few options this time of year. I hope Marty uses Gilmore more often, he is a match up nightmare down the middle, in the seams more so than Pita is because of his size. Hopefully Marty starts using plays designed to get players open rather than a spread series of routes that Trestman ran.
