papasmurfbell
https://nflmocks.com/2017/08/18/ravens-actively-search-joe-flaccos-heir/ After missing only six games in his NFL career, all coming in 2015, the 32-year-old Flacco is dealing with a back injury limiting him in training camp. Baltimore has no suitable backup, and fans are looking elsewhere for a quarterback in Baltimore. They are correct that the Ravens need to find Joe's replacement ASAP. vmax
On the radio this morning Preston said he was not worried about Joe at all. He said the reports about joe having a disc problem or surgery are false. He said it actually is what the doctors say he needs. Rest. So they set up a time table and Joe will play opening day. Now I am worried about how much rust he'll have to shake off and the valuable time he's missed working with his receivers.
papasmurfbell
So Preston is to be trusted on this?

ravinmaniac52
Like the fans are controlling the team. Don't read the Sunday funnies just read some of the post here. Preston is right(in need of shower now). It is preseason if most coaches in the NFL had their way there wouldn't be a preseason. Playing the game is something that most of the NFL players have done since they were six, at this point they can strap it up and play in the parking lot. Jay Cutler didn't have any off season work, no training camp, called him up out of the booth and he did fine but you seen them chase him out of there. There have been other NFL players that haven't played in preseason by plan. And I don't care how much you get in before the season opener, there will be rust. That is how you get these team beating the other teams that they shouldn't in the first two weeks of the season. Joe is fine, just being babied. This is one of the best organizations in the NFL that doesn't cheat.

Flacco’s dead money will still be $16 million in 2019, before dropping down to a more reasonable $8 million in 2020. $8 million is still a lot of money for a player that wouldn't be on the roster. Joe Flacco isn't a player the Ravens can easily part ways with. The NFL moves fast. Teams often ask, what have you done for me lately? If we ask Joe Flacco that from the perspective of a starting quarterback, what has he done for the Ravens as of late? The team is two-and-a-half years removed from its last playoff appearance and four-and-a half removed from a legitimate playoff run. The league’s best quarterbacks don’t hinder their team’s chances to contend as Flacco has. His 80-61 TD/INT ratio since 2013 doesn't measure against the franchise quarterbacks in the NFL’s top tier. In that same timespan Andrew Luck has a 109-50 ratio, Aaron Rodgers is 126-26, Russell Wilson is 101-35. All three quarterbacks have led their teams to the type of success that Flacco should be leading the Ravens to. The only exception is Luck who has suffered through injuries the last two years. GrubberRaven
He's waiting to be cleared for football activities, but has resumed throwing. Perriman should be back by week 1 as well.
papasmurfbell
This all sounds like spin BS now. He was "throwing" last week then yesterday he wasn't and today he is. Until there is vid I call bs.
Tornado700
This whole thing has me worried. Football shape is football shape and Joe ain't in it. So how long will this take? A month or so? Believe me when I say that the Bengals are coming after him big time. I BELIEVE THAT HE DOES HAVE SOME KIND IF BACK INJURY. But man, we have paid this clown $ 122 million bucks, To do what? Lead us to our third superbowl. His QB rating, compared to Aaron Rogers, Big Ben, Dalton, etc. is absolutely abysmal. I am so down about this whole thing. If we beat Cincy next week, it will only be the direct result of the defense. As far as I'm concerned, the sooner we go on without Flacco, the better off this team will be. I'm now predicting that we suffer two extra losses because of this Flacco mess. 11-5 is now a final prediction of 9-7. I really hope I'm wrong but this crap is going to cost them. vmax
Everybody's worried. No doubt Joe will be rusty as shit. And there's no line....and no great RB....so there's no running game. But....they will find a way to beat the Bengals. We haven't seen the starting offense so far this year and the Bengals haven't.
papasmurfbell
https://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2017/9/2/16234710/the-ravens-should-limit-joe-flaccos-exposure-in-2017-mornhinweg The Ravens should limit Joe Flacco’s exposure in 2017 Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback Joe Flacco hasn’t had the best couple of weeks, and if his team doesn’t correct a recent trend, he may again have a tough season in 2017. That trend is a certain amount of overexposure that has gotten him in trouble in terms of his level of play over the past few seasons.
