If he gets the exclusive tag its 45 mil.  But even with the Ravens offer he had 133 mil at signing and probably more by the end of the 1st yr.  That is a very big difference.

Well, they've been in Miami talking things over all day, still not close. 2 possible landing spots off the table, though the Saints weren't really a realistic spot with so little draft capital.

My guess is he plays chicken, gladly signs the tender for that cash since it will be guaranteed, then bolts next year.

There is a chance the Ravens trade him, but the only real team in position is Atlanta, maybe Texans, but no way he signs the tender to go play for the Jets, in that weather? The wind in that stadium is far worse than here and we know how he struggles to throw in the wind. Not too mention how he plays bad in cold and rain..

After the past two seasons, what if he gets dinged up and decides he can't play anymore?  Sits out.  $45 down the drain

He decides he’s dinged up. Maybe he’s a child that doesn’t want to go to school. I don’t feel good Harby.

Here is an excellent piece on why the Panthers are not a real option

That doesn’t mean they should act.

Panthers coach Frank Reich said at the combine the Panthers will explore every option at quarterback. Like Carolina, any quarterback-needy team is likely checking in on the price of both trading for Jackson and what a realistic contract extension is. And that’s what makes acquiring Jackson so complicated. His value is more subjective than NFL front-office members or agents want to admit.

What is not overly complicated is explaining why Jackson does not align with Panthers’ plans.

Carolina has been here before, flirting with a veteran quarterback seeking a new lucrative contract. In 2021 it was Matthew Stafford. A year ago: Deshaun Watson. Last spring, The Observer reported the Panthers could have landed Watson but were unwilling to meet Watson’s desired contract guarantees. On Monday, The Observer reported Carolina wasn’t prepared to meet quarterback Derek Carr’s $35 million per year demands. Carr signed a four-year, $150 million contract with New Orleans on Monday.

If Carolina was reluctant to overpay for quarterbacks before, why would that change for Jackson?

Even at the combine, it was very hard to get a handle on a potential trade market for Jackson if that’s the direction the Ravens go. Quarterback-needy teams like the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers seem more likely to draft their guys. Other organizations, like the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints, seem focused on other veterans who should come cheaper than Jackson in terms of either the contract or the draft capital necessary to acquire him. I also heard either directly or indirectly from a few other teams that just don’t have the appetite for trading multiple first-rounders and/or players for Jackson, and then giving a fully guaranteed deal to a player who has struggled to stay on the field the past two years. Here’s the thing, though: It only takes one team to have legitimate interest, and it’s hard to believe there won’t be at least one. How tagging Lamar Jackson could impact the Ravens’ other roster decisions - The Athletic

The $32.5 mil is lower than what Lamar can get this year with a new contract and therefore it provides him incentive to get a deal done. The Ravens have a good shot at matching any offer.

Just because the Ravens have applied the franchise tag doesn't mean negotiations on a long-term contract are finished. The two sides have until July 17 to negotiate and complete a deal before Jackson would have to be on the tag for 2023, once signed.

Whatever happens ... I want a team once the dust settles. I don't want Lamar at the cost of a great defense, special teams and rushing attack.

Giants signed Jones, 4 years, $160 mil

The Giants made the moves just ahead of Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline for NFL teams to use their franchise and transition tags.

Jones will make $82 million guaranteed at signing as part of the deal, which also includes up to $35 million in incentives, sources told ESPN's Jordan Raanan

So what if they are colluding?  ONE team gave an obnoxious deal to a mid tier QB who demonstrates sexual predator tendencies.  Five or so QBs have gotten new contracts since Watson's and NONE are guaranteed.  If Lamar had a damn agent this shit wouldn't be happening.

The owners have EVERY right not to bankrupt their PRODUCT because of one dumpster fire of a team.  F the NFLPA.
